THe Shack, Book Review
By Kismet Concepts
After hearing about The New York Times bestseller 'The Shack' by William P. Young, I had to judge for myself what all the buzz was about. Young takes a tragic situation and poses an opportunity to deal with the one entity the main character is disappointed with the most - GOD. In a letter seemingly sent to him and signed by the Father himself to meet with him in a shack. My biggest curiosity prior to reading this book was how the author would attempt to do this. And which direction would he take it in? He presents it however, with just enough biblical theology, logical interpretation, creativity, and imagination to keep you intrigued, and enthralled. The beauty of the story however, is even if you have no beliefs whatsoever, it is an interesting and poignant read to engage in. There is a nice balance between the spiritual and sensible. It probes you to think and reflect. And if you've ever loved and lost, it just might bring you...peace. |
